The Sultan becomes the King - 9.25pm 10th July Sultan Ahmed from Newham is crowned Champion Speaker. Speaking on Shortism Sultan held the the audience of 600 in the palm of his hand as he challenged their perceptions of 'short' people. Runner-Up Elishima Udorok from Islington, Third Placed Georgina Hayfrons from Lewisham and Fourth Placed Robert Pearson from Havering took the other places. Full report Grand Final 08.

The Challenge! goes National. The Jack Petchey Foundation announce that the World's biggest is to grow. It begins again in September with 35,000 year 10 students in 20 cities throughout the UK...taking the Challenge!

This means you will receive a full day's training in public speaking and effective communication and learn how to:
  • Speak with confidence
  • Motivate and influence
  • Make your point
  • Impress at interviews
You will have the opportunity to "Speak Out" openly and honestly about what really matters to you and you could become the 2008 "Speak Out" Challenge! Champion.
Every region in London and Essex will host a "Speak Out" Challenge! Final, where you could win one of 110 iPods.

On the 10th July 2009 one year 10 student will become the 2009 "Speak Out" Challenge! Champion and win a holiday for four to Portugal and £3000 for their school.
